These approaches are based upon acoustics [8], microwave reflection [1], reflectometry, electrode arrays, magnetic floats, pressure sensors [13,14], and capacitance sensing units. All these approaches have advantages and also disadvantages.
In today paper, we have designed an optical sensing unit that shows, in real time, the level of air, the level of water, as well as the degree of the fuel or diesel in the container. Our sensing unit is based upon surface area plasmon resonance (SPR) and also overcomes a lot of the limitations of the sensing units recommended to date. It is a secure and rapid-response gadget that can be used in inflammable or eruptive settings such as fuel tanks, rather than capacitance sensing units or those based on electrodes. Our sensor does not include movable components, instead of sensing units based upon floats or stress sensors, which can become blocked as well as are at risk to mechanical damages. Our tool has no worry of friction, home heating, or hysteresis, neither does it have the disadvantage of sensitivity to acoustic or electromagnetic disturbance.
